Updated: Aug 24, 2023

Steamed, boiled, pan-fried, deep-fried or with soup, wantons are cherished in different ways across various cultures for their delectable fillings and wrappers. Whether you like yours filled with minced meat, shrimps or vegetables, these savoury delights can be enjoyed in many ways.

Besides the filling, what makes a great wanton? Usually, it’s all in the ratio of filling to wanton wrapper. The wanton wrappers play a crucial role as they need to be the perfect texture for that perfect harmony in your mouth. Wrappers are best when they are thin and chewy so that it doesn’t overpower the fillings. These wrappers vary in sizes, shapes and sometimes colours too. At LG Foods, you can find white and yellow coloured ones as well as square and round ones too!

Here, our wanton skin wrappers are hand-cut into perfect circles. With the production of thousands of wanton skins daily, it is not uncommon to end –up with lots of excess wanton skin. We accumulate approximately 70 to 100 kilograms of wanton trimmings every day. Instead of letting these leftovers go to waste, there are several ways we can get creative to make the most of these excess wanton skins.

Therefore, we have partnered with a local food manufacturer to turn our wanton skin trimmings into delicious crispy chips.

With handpicked wanton trimmings, we started this innovation to repurpose excess wanton skin trimmings into something delectable. This wanton crisps snack tantalises your taste buds while championing the environment. It represents our commitment to reducing environmental impact and fostering a circular economy.
